Wanda,
You are right that I do love poking sticks, and I do love to argue...and I am a trial attorney.
With respect to Ellen's idea. I think it was very innovative. Much more so than any others I have seen. I do thank you for your inquiry into the matter with your friend with respect to implementing the plan. I do not recall the time frame as to when it was brought to NALTEA's attention. I believe (possibly not correct because of the passage of time) that when it was brought to my attention the response from NALTEA was negative, and within a matter of hours after my posts. I could be wrong though, and if so, feel free to set the record straight.
Will I form a union...no. I have exited from the field of abstracting to pursue more profitable endeavors...as I am sure many abstrators will also need to pursue. No, I see no need to join NALTEA in its current form. I really see little value in attempting to improve an industry that has no interest in improvement. In so far as volunteering my time is concerned...I have already said that is a possibility when the focus on NALTEA changes to seeking better financial gain for the abstractors. Right now there seems to be little that they get in return for their membership contribution annually.
There seems little point to improving an industry when the abstractors are closing their doors.to post a reply:
