Thanks, Shannon, for your input, and the same to those of you who responded privately to my inquiry.
We completed two rush searches for them as a courtesy to a fellow SOT member. After weighing the pros and cons, and after a conversation with owner Tony Brown, we have decided against pursuing an ongoing business relationship with his company, in large part because of his refusal to enter into our standard New Client Agreement.
While I'm sure that Carteret Title, LLC is a fine company and we realize that Mr. Brown has every right to run his business as he sees fit, I'm just not comfortable doing business with anyone who is not willing to sign off on my standard agreement, which essentially states that we expect to be paid for our work in a timely manner. The rate of non-payment in this business is simply too high, and I'm just not willing to take that risk.
We wish Mr. Brown and Carteret Title, LLC every success and all prosperity in future.
Best regards,
