Mortgage brokers can be a tough bunch to defend, but here goes:  oftentimes I am approached by friends and acquaintances to evaluate what kind of deal they are getting.  When they are going with Stagecoach Home Mortgage, in particular, I have NEVER seen them get a better deal there than they could get with a mortgage broker charging middle-of-the-road fees for a comparable loan.  BOA is not a big player in my market, so I don't know that this comparison applies, but I'd be surprised if it didn't.
