Hey Kurt,
Thanks for the heads up. There have been a few 'competitors' come and go over the years. In fact, here are a few that I have noticed. If anyone knows of any others, please feel free to share them.
Abstractor Connection. Don't know much about them. I think they are associated with the guy that offers the on-line "How to become an abstractor" course. I think you get a free listing there if you buy his course. They have 100 listings, give or take a few, as far as I can tell.
Lending Tools Online. I actually spoke to the guy who runs this one. He is a nice guy. I think listings are free and there seems to be a substantial number of listings; I can't tell the exact number.
Lenders-America. This is the one that popped up a year ago or so. They charge $49.95 PER COUNTY to get listed. Doesn't look like the site has been updated since it was launched. You can't actually see the listing so I have no idea if anyone is even listed in that one.
Abstracters Online. Seems to be out of business.
Abstractor Network. Seems to be out of business.
A few interesting facts about MyAbstractor.com: The site is owned by Peter Bodonyi and Lender Recording Services in Cleveland, Ohio. Peter Bodonyi has been registered with Source of Title since April, 2004 and he has been the topic of a recent forum post. Because he has his company listed with us, we can only assume that he recognizes the benefits of Source of Title, but if he thinks he can do better - more power to him. I just hope he isn't planning to use our directory to solicit our customers.
Source of Title has over 12,000 registered users and more than 5,200 companies listed in our directory. The directory gets searched about 15,000 times each month. Competition is not a bad thing... but they have some catching up to do.
Best,
Robert A. Franco
