ABOUT SOURCE OF TITLE

Source of Title launched in September 2002 to assist the title industry with locating independent vendors to whom settlement services could be outsourced.  The Source of Title directory provides a much needed, affordable marketing channel to the many businesses that make up the title industry.  The directory is dynamic, therefore allowing individual users to update their contact information online so the data is always current and remains valuable to those who rely on it for their businesses.

The Source of Title directory contains more than 5,400 company listings and is searched an average of more than 12,000 times each month.  There is no other directory of independent title professionals that offers such a comprehensive list, or searched as often.

In May 2003, the site underwent a major redesign and the message forums were added.  As the site evolved, it became more than a directory. Today, Source of Title is a community of title professionals who routinely share information on the message forums.  These discussions have even lead to the formation of the first national association of title abstractors, NALTEA, the National Assocation of Land Title Examiners and Abstractors.

The message forums contain more than 18,500 posts that have been read more than 1,000,000 times, making the Source of Title forums the largest, most active forums dedicated to the title insurance industry.  Users often share vital information, and business tips to keep the Source of Title community informed of relevant events.

In December of 2004, Source of Title added a full-time journalist to the staff to begin offering news coverage of the title industry.  It is important for businesses of all sizes to have access to industry news to keep up on the ever evolving changes that effect the way they operate.  This coverage includes information regarding legislative changes, corporate press releases, and other news pertinent to the title industry.  In addition, detailed surveys are periodically conducted of the title professionals to provide a comprehensive look at the industry from the independent professional's perspective.

The news archives on Source of Title contain more than 1,200 articles, searchable by key-words - a convenient tool for researching past events that have helped shape the title industry.

Source of Title has become the premier resource for locating independent title professionals and is, by far, the most active community of it kind.  With more than 12,000 registered users generating approximately 150,000 page views each month, Source of Title provides a unique and valuable service to the title industry.

As a companion to Source of Title, the Source of Title Blog was added in January 2007.  The purpose of the blog is to attract more attention to the issues specifically facing the small agents and abstractors.  Unlike the message forums, the blog is moderated by Robert A. Franco to keep the topics timely and on topic.  It will be interesting to review the blog in the future to see how the issues, and the industry, have changed over time.
