CATIC and Dono Announce Approval of AI-Powered Title Search Platform for North Carolina Attorneys
press release, CATIC

Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company (CATIC) and Dono, an AI-powered property records platform, announced that CATIC has approved Dono's automated title search solution for immediate use by North Carolina attorneys. The approval provides hold harmless protection against errors or claims, marking a significant milestone for AI-powered title searching in the state.

The approval follows extensive testing of Dono's data quality and process integrity after multiple North Carolina law firms successfully deployed the platform. Working alongside Rhythmic Title, Dono launched its automated capabilities in North Carolina, with Rhythmic Title playing a crucial role in bringing the solution to market and facilitating attorney adoption across the state.

The solution processes deeds, liens, and tax data from VCAP, Odyssey systems, and county records, among additional data sources, reducing search time from days to hours while meeting underwriter hold harmless standards. CATIC's decision was driven by demonstrated market demand and Dono's transparency features, including screenshots of all index searches, the ability to rerun orders with modified names and date ranges, and instant update capabilities.

"The market demand for automated title search solutions in North Carolina has been unmistakable, but we needed to see both accuracy and accountability," said Jim Czapiga, Esq. CEO of CATIC. "Dono's platform delivers exceptional data quality while providing the transparency and control our attorney partners require. Their comprehensive visibility into search processes gives us the confidence to provide full hold harmless coverage. This represents the evolution of title searching - faster, more accurate, and fully controllable."

"CATIC's approval validates that AI can enhance rather than obscure the legal process," said Tali Gross, CEO at Dono. "Our platform ensures attorneys maintain complete control - from reviewing search parameters to instantly ordering updates when new information surfaces. This partnership with CATIC, supported by Rhythmic Title's market expertise, demonstrates how collaboration can accelerate meaningful innovation in title searching."
