I actually don't mind being called initially and asked if I can fulfill an order - much nicer than some where I just get an order entry and I'm supposed to tackle it no matter where it is and what it is. I just hate being asked to give a fee quote when I've already sent them a fee sheet and they know for example that I charge $25.00 for a doc retrieval plus copies but they ask every time as if it's a new concept. And don't get me started on doc retrievals - if you ask me for a doc and it's a Will or something, I'm going to get a will. It's not a deed - I can't make it a deed, and you'll be charged for what I have to get from the estate, meaning all pertinent documents, or I will call you first :) I had one firm who insisted that what they wanted me to get was a deed and not a will. I was like - I know the county better than you do - it's a will. So we're being relied on a lot for a lot of information but I LOVE the clients who take what we do seriously, appreciate that we're going above and beyond for them, and just express thanks instead of arguing. It goes a long way . . . .
