How does it affect me you ask? I take great pride in our profession. I also am fully aware you can wear whatever you want to the courthouse. But bear in mind, our profession is an unique trade. I have heard from many of clients and related real estate professionals that when they see an examiner dressed as if going to the beach they see that as very unprofessional and indication of the title work being completed. I have been told that for the longest time they believed all title examiners dressed that way and produced title search work in that same unprofessional manner as they appear at the courthouse.

If you think we should not display some manner of professionalism, that is your right. However, I feel we are professionals not dressing like I am going to the beach is how I choose to appear at the county courthouse. I did state I do wear jeans and riding boots when I ride to work. I wear my leathers when necessary for the weather. I don't wear them while I am searching title, I leave them in my tour pack.

I also addressed that courthouse decorum is more than attire. I am amazed at the number of comments that have stated that because it is a public building they can act and be as loud as they choose. Forget that there are other people trying to do research.  If one doesn't want to be respectful and considerate the other people in the courthouse that is their option, but it is right?
