Personally, I don't want that information to leave, but maybe hide it?  So if I want to look up a researcher no longer in business, I can still retrieve their info.  Just in case the info I have in my system is lost from a system malfunction. (May need to contact them if a missed item on a previous search appears.)  But I agree, it does take up a lot of space on the directory search result.  Perhaps "ghost" them from the search results, but keep their info in place in case we need to look them up by name?
