If I can't hit "respond" to an email, then I don't respond!  I've found that even many clients who DO ask for a "received" notice and eta, STILL end up phoning.  Good grief....
 
So I'm with you, Serena.  I only ask for status via returnable e-mail an only if the order is late, or a rush order from a client who does not order a "rush" every single time.
