I don't understand that.. If you are doing a search and you discover something.. out of place.. ??  If you are doing the abstracting for a sale.. the closing of the property voids the prior policy since the owner does not own it any longer.. and if it is a refi - the prior banks policy is void upon the new mortgage policy.. give an instance so I can relate to it.. If there is a problem on the prior.. you can always get a Letter of Indemnity.. Most mistakes would be on a name search or a missing name in the search.. How would a previous searcher be at risk, if the refi or sale closed?
