Robert,
Thank your for standing up for us abstractors. But copy costs are copy cost. Clients should be able to ask what Court Houses are charging and we should be able to show them. You know as well as I copy cost in Ohio range from 0.25 to $2.00 per page. That is a ridiculous arbitrary rate when the Ohio Supreme Court said in 1996 0.05 was reasonable. Yes, we are a long way from 1996, but a) there is a long way from .25 in Columbus and $2.00 in St. Clairsville, b) They're public records, suppose to be open to the public for review, c) Clients need to know cost
How about as abstractors we stand up to the right to public records and stand against counties setting cost based on demand.
I stand for Abstractors, who make nothing off the copies, to be able to photograph them. Evenb St. Clairsville (Belmont County, and Noble & Monroe County for that part, allows me to do so)
