Michael, how do you know most of Robert's clients believe copies are passed through costs? Are you claiming to be an expert in Robert's clients? Robert states on his fee sheet that all copies are a $1.00 per page. It couldn't be more clear this is what his clients will pay for requested copies.
Are you suggesting his clients have your same inability to understand what a fee sheet is? A fee sheet is a statement of what a company charges for various services, NOT what the county charges.
At Davick Services copies are $1.00 per page which is clearly stated in our fee sheet. If one of my clients asked what the county charges, I'm happy to tell them but it isn't the same product. Copies available from any of the 117 counties we serve are generally available only as paper copies and often poor quality. We provide enhanced and digitized copies of the county's original paper version so they can be easily read and delivered quickly by email.
$1.00 per page is what counties in Texas charge for prepaid paper copies delivered by hand or US mail. Our clients can decide which version they want and how they want it delivered. For now, the cost is the same.
