How do you define "American" companies? Is it based on the nationality of the owners? Because most American companies traded on the NYSE have a high percent of foreign stockholders. These American companies no longer are concerned with America's best interest.

Is it based on where the work is completed, regardless of which country country the profits go to? In that line of thinking, Toyota is more American than GM, seeing how here in the US, Toyota has a higher percentage of domestic production.

Is a company "American" based on where the company was founded? Many traditionally American companies are now foreign owned. It's easier for a foreign company to buy an American brand than it is to break into the American market with an unknown name.

Many complain about the corporate takeover of the US government. Its not just a corporate takeover, but a foreign takeover. But we are to blame. Our own greed motivated us. We complain left and right, but continue to consume endlessly. We wave our American flags made in China, deposit our money in foreign owned banks, get our news from foreign owned media, eat our beef that grazed on land that was once rainforests, and spend our lives being underpaid and under appreciated by our "American" companies.
