This is astonishing.  The most basic requirement, in fact the very purpose of a Registry of Deeds is to provide absolute, unquestioned, immovable, written in stone, evidence that a real estate transaction has taken place.  Otherwise, we might as well go back to physically handing over sections of turf in front of witnesses.
