Honestly when I see their number come through my cell phone, or they email me - I won't even answer or reply back.  They are a huge pain in the behind!!  First off they want to make sure you can do the search they have - which may mean multiple phone calls from multiple people.  Then they want to make sure you have received it - multiple phone calls from multiple people, and many times an email follow up.  Then if you are minutes late sending the search back (they want to dictate WHEN it will arrive, which is not always possible) you will receive another barrage of phone calls and email.

Then to add insult, they pay very slow and half the time they "forget" to pay for copies.  It doesn't matter if you marked it on your search and sent an invoice (like they require).  It simply goes ignored and following up to get paid for those is nearly impossible and just as time consuming.  I even told them to quit calling me, and they still try when they get desperate and other abstractors are on vacation.  If you value your sanity, avoid them like the plague.
