Very well said, Alex.  It applies equally well to lawyers (I have to remind myself of that from time to time).  But, in the case of abstractors, they really seem adverse to charging a fair rate.  I cannot believe how little some abstractors charge for what they do.  In some case, I don't even think they charge enough for the TIME part of the equation.
