If the abstractors would all get together, in mass, and sue VLTA for their prohibiting you from making a living with their requirements, I am sure you would receive relief. That is what the Notaries in Kentucky did, suing the Bar Association, stating that the Bar was prohibiting them from making a living in that they were prohibited from conducting "signing closings". The Notaries won, and Kentucky is no longer an attorney state for that purpose.
