Are you criticizing an abstractor that you have not timely paid for "not having money?"  I do not think it is a "betrayal" to demand payment of monies legitimately owed.  The "betrayal" is ordering searches from an abstractor, then not paying them when their invoice is due.

Has non-payment/late-payment become so common that we are willing to villianize those who demand to be paid on time?  I certainly hope things haven't gotten that bad.
