It would depend on a) whether or not the law in your state permits transfers of life interests to non-living persons or entities; b) whether or not the POA authorizes the agent to make such transfer on behalf of the principal; and, c) how did Betty and Carla take title to their respective interests (tenants-in-common, j/t/w/r/o/s, etc.)
