This company was Core Abstract which was the settlement company. Title Search Services was the abstracting company of this settlement agency.  They were owned and operated by Jami Braafhart who is being accused of fraud in the amount of 1 million dollars. For a period of seven years she failed to pay liens and mortgages from properties for which she conducted settlement.  This all came to light around the begining of June 2012.  They were forced to shut down at that time.  I know of a few abstractors who were owed LOTS of money and are being offered a payout of just 1/2 of what they are actually owed.  They were told it was either 1/2 or nothing.  I believe they are being asked to sign off on the rest so they cannot ever sue for the remainder.  I know one searcher who told me they were owed around $6500.00 dollars. You should contact the attorney on the complaint.  It will be listed on the complaint that is filed in the Cumberland County Courthouse.  I have the suit number if you are able to go online and read it.  All you have to do is go to the Cumberland County website and go to prothonotary and access it. the docket number is 12-3471....it is free. I believe the site address is www.ccpa.net.  Select Government at the top of the page and then select prothonotary.  You can call Prothy if you have problems accessing it and they will show you over the phone. maybe this will help others who may also be out some money....Good Luckto post a reply: login - or - register
