I didn't necessarily forget that this mid-level bureaucrat resigned; it simply isn't relevant to me-- I still do not have much problem with his remarks. That he was reprimanded by his superior and apologized and resigned as to avoid being a distraction,  just makes it even less significant.

I note that the Agenda 21 legislation these right wingers are putting through was drafted by the John Birch Society, according to your link.  That sounds about right.  At any rate, I don't see anything in your sources that even remotely suggests that Agenda 21 is in any way binding in Alabama or any other state, or that it ever could be.  So the preemptive strike accomplishes nothing and prevents nothing.  It just adds to statutory bloat and spreads fear, uncertainty, and doubt.

At least contraception is not a fictional issue, and the right wingers were squawking plenty loud on the issue as well, so no, that's not quite equivalent.
