I don't want to live like my great grandparents either... back when there was no environmental protections, and you died in your 40s or 50s because of asbestos, or lead paint, or from toxic pesticides, or from air pollution or from whatever sewage or toxins were dumped in rivers. So it goes both ways.  Creature comforts aren't much comfort if you're sick all the time.

By the way, the "scandals" of green energy such as Solyndra are discussed beyond any proportion to their true importance.  The Solyndra thing hardly even rises to the level of scandal.  It's really a manufactured scandal, blown out of proportion by right wing hitmen who are frustrated because Obama's been squeaky clean compared to most politicians.
