I recently performed a judgment search for a company in Florida who got my name from the county clerk's office. I found nothing on the individual in question. When I submitted my bill to them, I got the following response:

"I am not understanding why we are being sent a bill when nothing was found?PLEASE EXPLAIN thank you Mary"

I did EXPLAIN that I do charge for "no finds" expecially since I made the 100 mile round trip plus my time that was used to perform this search. I am not at the point where I perform searches for free!!!  I still don't know if they intend to pay, since I did not get a follow up response from them.

I guess when we go to the doctor and they don't find anything, maybe we are not supposed to pay for that service????
