NAY!!! NAY SAYS I!!!

I see from a couple of the other posts that some people have been kicked into apathy by the market conditions.  However, market conditions aren't the REAL reason you're not getting work. Its a well known fact in scientific communities that if you identify the REAL source of a problem it provides an immediate solution.

I'm fairly new to this business but I'm having an excellent go of it. I'm almost to the point of turning away clients because I'm so busy, and I'm not doing $20 searches (well, maybe for an update or doc retrieval...if I'm in a good mood AND like the client asking).

Here's a little secret for those who aren't closing up shop already. If your stats (orders in, net income, etc) are crashed then someone is holding them down either actively or passively. There is hope. Something can be done about it. But you're the one who has to do it!
