I thought the HMP program was defunded by the Congress.
The Supreme Court of South Carolina has stopped all foreclosures for the second time. This is great news for me since most of my work is forecloure. This applies to all mortgages, not just Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, for the purpose of loss mitigation and foreclosure intervention. This is on owner occupied properties. All of this extra paper work and notification is to be completed by the foreclosure attorney, not the bank.
As of May 9, 2011, all pending and future foreclosues are stopped to comply with this Order.
I personally think, this was done to modify loans, reducing the principal. The first time I see a modification filed in a courthouse, reducing the principal amount of a mortgage, I will stop making my mortgage payments the very next day. This happened during the Great Depression (what do you call this mess we are in now, a Not-So Great Depression). One state, I think Minnesota or Michigan passed a law that no one in the state would be foreclosed on, and guess what, no one made mortgage payments.
I cannot go into another profession. I am too old to start over, and I have been doing this for too long. I will be dead before this gets straightened out, and all of these young people will be finding messes in title searches for many years to come. Remember when you could do a clean title search?
