I blame those who use these unqualified untrained searchers. To save a couple dollars they put their clients at risk. When the mistakes are uncovered by real searchers those who use fake searchers will lose clients. The only question is how many of us can hold on until the chickens come home to roost. I constantly get those vendor applications which rarely seem to ask much about my experience but are very interested in my E&O insurance and how quickly I can do their work and how cheap. They don't care and neither do those who use them. Its a shame to see a profession like ours disappear.
