Robert,  Is a "stop payment" really legally a 'bad check"?  A friend of mine thinks that

to be a 'bad check' subject to the bad check crime, the person (maker) presenting the

check needs to be knowledgeable that the required funds are not in the account to cover the amount the check is being issued for.
