A mountain of paperwork?? A foreclosure is a pretty simple process. Unfortunately, the foreclosure mills can't seem to abide by the rules of the courts. They have decided rather than actually provide the necessary documents, they would just make stuff up. I don't think it is too much of a burden to attach a copy of the note to the complaint and prove that you are the holder in due course and have a valid mortgage entitling you to foreclose.
If they can't meet that very basic hurdle, the problem isn't with the "system" - it is a problem of them failing to keep accurate records (or they are just too lazy to bother with it). If the courts are a sausage factory as you claim, it is the foreclosure mills that have turned it into such. The courts shouldn't allow that kind of behavior.
