In Connecticut we search the index for as far as it is complete. We then search the loose documents that have not yet been indexed to make certain that we have reviewed all documents up to the minute of recording. If an intervening encumbrance shows up most clients want to hold off on recording until the impact of the intervening encumbrance is determined.
