Seems like the guy should have acted within some "middle ground". Maybe getting attorney-in-fact standing through a general power of attorney in order to act on behalf of and in the name of his client would have been good, in addition to an appointment at the personal agent / representative / manager of the client's affairs via a written contract. At least then, he could have worked to type up the docs for his client and file them, even if not standing up for him in the actual courtroom proceedings. Poor old dude.
