Didn't think we had elected a saint or a miracle worker. I also don't believe he's responsible for the economic meltdown - that happened on the previous president's watch and as to that, I also don't believe that it was entirely George Bush's fault as well. I don't agree with all of Obama's policies but for one, creating jobs is a private sector activity. I read (somewhere) the other day that business leaders were arguing that it wasn't their fault the economy was tanking - that if people would just get out there & shop that everything would be rosy. Go figure. How are you going to shop if you don't have a job or if you're pretty close to running on empty financially. For example; my son's college tuition is 6810K per semester (without housing) at a state university, which is pretty affordable. Some friends of mine refinanced their house to send their kid to a somewhat prestigious private college at around 45K per year. Now they're underwater on their loan, filing for bankruptcy because he's lost his job & they will probably lose their house as well. Who could have predicted that?? I remember when their son went off to school, how happy & proud they were & how they considered the refinancing to be a good, solid investment in his future.
