I have no first hand knowledge of any of the facts in this thread. However, your post sounds like a very sincere apology. It sounds like you are doing your best to remedy the situation and, even though it may take a while, that is worth something. Most impressive to me is that you had the guts to post this message publicly and accept the responsibility for a bad situation, and even credit the abstractor for a job well done.
I hope your fortune improves and you are able to pay the abstractor.
