Wow again - what a racket. In Massachusetts cities & towns are gathered into counties under the auspices of the Secretary of State's office & there are separate Registries of Deeds for each county. The counties that I cover have online indexing along with copies & everything is available free of charge. One of the reasons I stopped going to Norfolk County is that they are not part of the statewide system - they're a county office & in consequence charge an arm & a leg for their online copies. You have to set up an account with them & pay into it first then draw down as you print - and - they charge a yearly $100 fee just to have an account.
