I would be interested to know why the County Recorders' offices would even have an opinion on this, let alone an issue. Norfolk County in Mass charges all outdoors for copies & the last time I was down there (granted it was a while ago), a lot of the examiners were using the HP Capshare, with nary a word from the Registry. Do the Recorders' offices in other states have rules about this? I'm pretty sure the Norfolk County ROD is not happy losing income but what can they do??
At one point probate court in Essex County banned camera-enabled cell phones from the building (which included the Registry), & that was a royal pain for out of town examiners but they've changed the rule now because cameras in cell phones are fairly common.
Horrible if you have to abstract on forms to have money on copies or else fork over mega amounts of money for copies.
