I am also an "old fashioned fuddy duddy notary" who agrees with the premise of the post. I know this procedure is common in the business world. However I am perplexed as to the term robo-signer. As a Pennsylvania Notary instructor  I believe that the signers actions and methods are not the problem, the notarys' actions are. The first rule of notarization is personal appearence. Regardless of the signer or the document.  Anyone can suggest a bending of the rules, no one can force the bending of the rules. The actions of notarization rest solely on the shoulders of notaries public. Not the signers.
