dont get me started !   here everyone talks to your face like their your best friend but behind your back they plot against you.  Its bad here.   I totally understand "it's business" but whatever happened to morals ?!?  I have never worked in a more cut-throat business.  Someone told me once that freelance abstracting was the 2nd most competitive business in the U.S.   I had a friend who was a staff abstractor for 5 or so years before she started to freelance.  She covered different counties from me so I helped her by sending a handful of clients her way for the counties she covered.  Each one of those clients told me the friend said whatever I was charging for my counties she would do them cheaper.  Luckily these clients preferred accuracy and dependibility over cheaper fees.  Why would my - for  lack of better word - friend do this to me? Greed.  money is the root of all evil.  I never use to believe that, then I became a freelancer, and I see it first hand every day.   I know we all have to make a living, but even in this slow economy there is enough work to go around.  Maybe when times were good they shouldn't have went out and bought a $800,000 house and a $40,000 car and a $60,000 boat, and then installed a $15,000 pool, huh ?  Sure they could afford those at the time, but did everyone foolishly believe the market was gonna stay at that pace? I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to get yourself nice things, I'm just saying, live within in your means people !  Times are tough allover, maybe they should downsize.  They come in the record room and very angrily complain how they may have to sell the boat because they cant get any work, willing to do anything to get more work so they can keep that boat.   Then their mad at me because my clients wont send them any work !

Sorry, I think my buttons got pushed on this one

Do unto others . . . .
