Consider the possibility of lowering your copy costs by eliminating the need to get paper copies, by having your abstractors get digital images via a hi-resolution digital camera. The JPG image files can easily be converted to Adobe PDF's with any number of free online sites or downloadable freeware converter programs, for ease of use and printing by your end-client.
Instead of increasing Client-cost and becoming less competitive with other research firms, you can lower costs and offer savings. Make this a marketing point and client-retention point too.
Unless they need public agency-certified copies, this solution has never failed to provide great quality images from any source: microfilm machine, digital reel, old book , printed copy or other computer image.
As I've mentioned, compare price and features online at a consumer-friendly website. Order a camera (get a name brand, not a cheapo-foreign knockoff), from a site like ebay or amazon or best buy online. You won't regret it.
