Wow!  That is shocking.  One thing worth mentioning... Kansas is one of the states that requries abstractors to be licensed.  Not that I think a license entitles one to such fees, but it is interesting that they seem to be able to command them.

The statutory rate for copies in Ohio is $2/page and we have one county where the only way to obtain copies is to have the clerk make them for the full price.  It is expensive, but what can you do?

As for the rest of the charges... $200 for a current owner is just ridiculous!  And, the other charges seem to be over the line in my book, too.  I would love to know how they justifiy that.
