[-] I deleted a post today! - Robert Franco/OH (18 replies)
4/29/2010 10:07:40 AM (3646 views)

I am getting fed up with people abusing our forum to do nothing more than slander companies and individuals that post on Source of Title.  I deleted a post today because it was full of what I perceive to be slanderous comments about a company and it was posted by someone who only identified himself (or herself) as "Abstractor."

The post was nothing more than speculative theories and second-hand information.  That fact that the user chose not to identify himself (or herself) is just further evidence that our forums are being abused.

If you want to post your experiences with a company, they must be YOUR experiences, not rumors or conjecture, and you must identify yourself.  It is not fair to allow people to impugn the character of companies anonymously because the company cannot defend itself against the negative comments if they cannot identify the source.

I cannot believe that a group of business people who complain that they are not treated like professionals would behave in such a childlike manner.  I will start blocking individuals from accessing Source of Title if this continues and I'm not too far from making the forums subscription based!  My theory is that people who pay for access will be more responsible with their comments and if we have fewer participants, I might actually have the time to moderate them.  If that doesn't work... the forums may just disappear altogether.

It is difficult to express just how disappointed I am in some of our users' behavior on these forums.  But, I am at the end of my rope and I'm not going to tolerate it any longer.

Best,
Robert A. Franco
