first thing i did in setting up my brother in law in business last  year was to put together contracts to protect him.and my current firm. 

my wife is a signatory to our LLC operating agreement for our existing firm when she joined before we wed and we had a prenup that we both insisted be done to arrange our assets too.

my newphew was set up as a process server and never blinked when i offered to help him protect his assets with a proper set of agreements

i see more of a potential problem and conflict if i had not had people do so.  these are all reasonable things and exist as good things that help us establish boundaries so that we dont take work home or drag business into our personal lives.  nobody wants to fight about billings on a saturday afternoon...
