I include a copy of the current vesting document and any open judgments or liens with every order.  It's built into my price for the search.  As to requests for additional copies, I've always marked up my copies, which in most cases is twice my cost.  I figure that it compensates me for the time it takes me to actually obtain the copies, as well as for the time between when I deliver the copies and when I actually receive payment for them.

The way I see it, anyone who is only willing to pay for copies at cost is basically asking me to not only do the work for free, but to front them a 30-day interest-free loan as well.  After all, my time is valuable, as is my effort, and if they want the copies at cost, they can always pay a visit to the courthouse themselves.

But, that's just me.
