I agree. I don't see any reason that a client should need a full copy of your policy. The Dec page should be sufficient proof that you have coverage of the appropriate amount. It is routine for an underwriter to require full copies of their agents' policies, but I don't see why they would need full copies of the independent contractors' policies.
That said... I'm not sure it would hurt any to provide it. The full policy is generally all standard, boilerplate language unless there is something specific to your business that is covered or excepted from coverage.
