I rec'd the same email (and the replies afterward).  I called the person who sent it and politely told him I would not agree to the fee cut and my reasons for doing so.  He told me that someone else in Georgia had already agreed to the fee reduction.  So be it and good for you, fellow abstractor.  I'm sure I lost them as a client but they didn't send me all that much anyway. 

I will tell you that the sender of the email fully expects to be trashed on SOT.  Just try to remember that no matter, there are those out there who will agree to reduced fees and are already doing so.  I for one, just try to be a bit professional about it and realize that when dealing w/VM's, it's just business.  I'm not going to offer my services any cheaper to them and if they choose to dump me, that's their prerogative.  Perhaps one day it will come back to bite them in the butt.  Using a "cheaper" abstractor may result in reports that are not accurate or as thorough as the vendor with experience and  a history with them would provide.  I also include tax info with searches and do not offer a reduction in fee because it is not wanted.  In most counties I cover, it takes just a few minutes to get that info anyway and many are online.  There are some that I have to continually call but that is just part of my job. 

Good luck to you Georgians who agree to fee cuts!  It's my hope you are not around in the long run!!
