So, do the counties go thru and wipe out the numbers and then put them back on viewable status?  Franklin Co. keeps saying that eventually they will have them back online at some point but I am not holding my breath - It’s been 2 years now I think.

They make that claim but are never successful no matter how much they pay for expensive "redaction" software. Travis County Texas took down the county website for six months while they spent millions of tax dollars  "cleaning" the records. Within ten minutes of accessing the "cleaned records" I found the identity of a local resident that included SSN, name, address and medical information. Then I searched the mineral records and found over a hundred Social Security numbers within about an hour. Admittedly, the million dollar project did block out some of the easier targets such as UCC's where the numbers were always found in the same spot.

There is only one solution and that is to pull the images offline and far out of reach of all but a few local criminals who may be bold enough to voluntarily enter a courthouse. It costs the taxpayer nothing to keep the records offline and away from the prying eyes of anyone outside the jursidiction.
