Sometimes I feel like Norma Rae standing on that chair with the "union" sign. It's not about a union but it is about uniting to defend and protect a profession - our chosen field of endeavor.
Somehow we were enslaved and made to work like dogs for crumbs or less. I don't care who started it but I do care about ending it. There will be no better time than now while the entire real estate transaction structure is in flux. We can do this and I fully expect that we will be assisted in the effort by our state and federal regulators.
ALTA and PLTA have already included waiver of title cancellation fees in their power point presentation on creative RESPA violations. It's not just RESPA, anyway, it's really about the value of our work product.
