I appreciate all of the positive feedback from everyone. Just for clarity, we are both a witness closing and title abstract company which is what we have advertised on this post. I have spoken with a number of both witness closers and abstractors in the Southern Ohio area who have had the same issues as we've had with companies making bogus claims about a missing document or a notary mistake to obtain free notary services. My main objective in placing this post on message board was to make everyone aware of the situtation. Like most signing agents and abstractors, everyone here at our company works full time and is their only source of income. Situations like these not only costs our company money but also costs our employees money as well. We scan all of our documents also which is how we caught the company making a bogus claim.  We would have probably have just brushed this incident off but another incident happened again a few days later with another title company.

SO TO ALL SIGNING AGENTS AND ABSTRACTORS PLEASE KEEP A  COPY OF THE WORK YOU PERFORMED.  SHOULD AN INCIDENT LIKE THIS HAPPEN TO YOU, YOU WILL HAVE DOCUMENTATION TO MAKE YOUR STAND!
