I'll stick my very rusty old neck out.  Unless instructed differently by the attorney or title company:

#1:  Flinstones aqcuired 1/1/2006.  From the daybook (not yet indexed) back 60 years from 1/1/2006 and if the deed refers to any public utility I'll be checking those dusty old 20 lb. handwritten, faded ink volumes further back. (Note: Connecticut has a "marketable title act" which some use to shorten the search.)

#2: Current owner search.  Back to 1/1/2006, date of acquisition never recording date. I've run across more than one "oops" where a mortgage or deed conveying a parcel out from the Flintstones was recorded before the deed to the Flintstones was recorded.  I need to run the Rubbles forward from Flintstone acquisition to see if there are any Rubble liens - some tax and local liens can show up two years AFTER the real property has been transferred indexed under Rubble (owner on tax list at the time).

#3: Rubbles acquired 6/15/2000. As part of the Flintstone search back to 6/15/2000. Do the same as #2 for the Simpsons.

I don't get sent out to do title searches very often, mostly bring downs (or run fowards). It- could be my bad luck or good research. I also look at the document recorded immediately prior to and after my search document; that's how I find the wacky stuff.  I miss searching. The old days before computerized indexes were more fun and interesting - don't see many handwritten mortgages that include the cow or only mortgage half the windows in the house.  A different group in the vault; all of us in our "can get dusty and dirty" casual clothes and you wouldn't want to arm wrestle with any title searchers.
