Thank you , Helene. What I saw in the pounds and shelters that I explored was truly pathetic. Some of these animals had been abused...most had been neglected by their former owners. Most of them are very friendly, and just want to go home with someone. I think it is great that you plan to get your future pets from the pound. Most of them are mixed breeds, but will offer their owners as much companionship as a pure breed.
