What is going on in MY neighborhoord?  Well, close to the same thing . . .

I have lived on this street for 10 years.  Not to mention I grew up around the block (which our old house was foreclosed on after we sold it - LOL), my grandmother lived right down the street until she died, and this place was always bustling with familiar families.  Now I look around and right across the street from me sit two vacant houses.  I just did a foreclosure search for another house down the street (where the same people lived since 1989) and they were foreclosued on and left the place a mess.  Another house catty-corner from me was foreclosed on.  Luckily it got sold quickly (for an absolute rock bottom price of $38,000 - unbelievable if you ask me) and now is a rental/party frat house full of disrespectful college kids (don't even get me started about them) who leave trash in my lawn and piss in my flowerbed (yes - that is a true incident and I ran them off with a baseball bat in the middle of the night).  I have also done searches on other houses up and down this street, within a six block radius that are over mortgaged and on the brink of being lost to their owners.  It is truly sad for me because I'm not going anywhere.  I can afford my mortgage, I like my house, and for the most part the neighborhood is good despite the frat house across the street.  Things have to perk up - right???  Someday???  Maybe???
